Precognitive phenomena
Genshin SAGAU
You who sometimes get dreams that will happen in real life
A cool little perk
These events can happen soon or even years later
But then, you get an unexpected dream..
You were in Teyvat, getting chased and hunted by the beloved characters of the game Genshin Impact
Surely it can’t be real, right?
It’s not another one of those “prophetic dreams”. It’s just a normal dream
But inside, you knew it was going to happen
“It’s just a silly dream” You kept telling yourself
Unconsciously trying to find possible hideouts or safe spots in the world of Teyvat as you play
“I’m just exploring for chests. That’s it.” Lies. You’ve already gotten everything in every region that’s currently available
You’ve played for hours, trying to find a place you can possibly hide in
Upon finding out about the sagau that’s been floating around in the fandom, you’ve decided to read about them
Maybe these many different fics can help you survive
You’ve even started learning whatever you could get your hands on. Training both your body and mind for what’s to come
But..Even if you train now, you know you can’t do anything against them. They who have trained for longer and are far more superior in many different areas

I was just sitting and watching funny cat videos when it dawned on me. Just imagine the sagau!Zhongli who isekai'd into your world and you allow him to stay in your apartment. Let's say you have a cat and at some point you decide to buy catnip, or you already had supplies and all of a sudden it starts to affect him. (suggestive)
Zhongli's breathing becomes heavier and deeper, his pupils become vertical and scales appear on his cheeks. When he kneels before you, his gaze is full of awe and greed emanating from his dragon nature, which he usually hides. His thoughts are full of you as always, Zhongli wants to serve you, to be with you. What a blessing that among all your followers, it was he who was lucky to be in your world. But the part of him, the selfish part that he usually tries to shut up, blossoms in all its glory. He served you for such a long time, millennia after millennium prayers in your honor escaped his lips. Zhongli wants a reward, some kind of confirmation that you noticed his efforts and appreciated them. And he takes the liberty of leaning his head against your thigh, begging for your mercy, for your touch. When your hand rests on his head and you start stroking him, the Zhongli make a short, semi-growling, semi-purring sound. Horns grow out of his skull, whose bases are very sensitive and touching them makes him moan, tears of pleasure welling in the corners of his eyes. Zhongli's tail crawls excitedly across the floor, his eyes are covered with long eyelashes, hiding the arousal burning in them from you.

I know I've seen fics of Zhongli and Neuvillette meeting, either antagonistically or to solve some quirk of draconian biology (or because Zhongli has to come bail out his stupid husband from prison), but I want to see Zhongli and Wriothesley together, just sampling tea and exchanging notes on prefered brewing methods and blends. Both of them just sitting there contentedly, getting on like ducks in a pond, while Neuvillette just stews in the background. Childe's at the next table over just grateful someone else is occupied drinking the leaf water instead of him for a change

Dreams are the manifestation of oneself. Made from desire, experience, trauma, and hate. Many things can warp the mind to elude the creature into a dream; one too familiar to let go, or the pain to make them reform. Dreams are a curious thing. It's been a long time since you dreamt. A feeling all too distant since then. 'What did dreams feel like? How do dreams make one feel?" Questions surged through your thoughts while sitting inside a cold and desolate cell.
"Why are these questions coming to me now?" You wondered as you gazed up at the ceiling, eyes wandering at every crack and fragment dangling from the stone before a loud clang echoed cutting your thought.
The sound was made when a guard thrust his sword at the bars. "Quiet fraud!!! This world doesn't need your corrupt thoughts out loud!" The guard sneered as he pulled his blade. back to its sheath.
Brushing off the guard's words, you stepped closer to the bars with a sly grin while leaning closer. "Hey, do you know how dreaming feels? It's been a while since I've had one." Yet the innocent act was returned with a clang banging into the bars.
"I said quiet fraud!!! You better shut your mouth if you know what's good for you." The guard's voice came aloud, echoing through the dungeon halls. Your face remained unchanged and unfazed by his threat, simply smiling, but yet the tone of your grin became unsettling, leaving a cold sweat down the once threatening guard.
"You know... I prefer my questions to have answers." Your tone of voice was sickly sweet, enough to come off as poison. Your eyes drew closer to the guard, your gaze piercing through his haughty façade. "Now tell me. What is it like to dream?". The guard quickly turned his back away to face you, still, he could feel his mind weighing over him as he felt his body slowly fading from his control, with your question burdening his whole being.
"What is it like to dream?"
Luck graced the guarding knight as a small figure appeared to interfere. "What's wrong? Are you alright?" A young and squeaky voice came as the figure came closer revealing itself as the Dendro Archon, along with another person wearing an expansive hat.
"Wait, Buer" the short man with a big hat came off surprised when the Dendro Archon suddenly dashed off to help the guard. Your smile faded as you saw the Archon come closer before returning, but with a different reason for grinning, then releasing the guard from his agony as he fell to his knees before hitting the ground.
While Kusanali focused her attention on the guard as Wanderer had his eyes on you, wary of your intentions as you had the guts to impersonate a being of another plane. "Why are you trying to act like a god? That won't get you anything." He sneered while keeping his distance. A low chuckle escaped your lips as you looked at him. "That's very rich coming from someone who tried to become a god." You teased as you lay your bum on the floor with your legs crossed, giggling at your little joke.
Your short statement made the Wanderer's blood run cold, if he had any. Ever since her erased himself from Irminsul, no one else other than the traveller, Paimon, and Bier could have known, yet, some imposter knew that. "How did you..." The Dendro Archon overhead you and Hat Guy's little exchange and came over with a tinge of fear behind her face brimming with courage. "How did you know all that? Ever since he was removed from Irminsul, no one should have known about that."
Your smile was unchanging as you looked up to her and giggled. "Tehehe... Maybe you could try guessing-" your voice leaving a little teasing tone as your eyes remain on the young Archon.
The Dendro Archon remains unmoving, her eyes still as untainted waters of a clear spring, the clarity deceivingly clear. "Because you've seen it before, again and again, countless times, in every loop you've experienced..." She voiced out with a tinge of pity laced in her stern facade.
Your smile was drowned out by the Lord's words, while also leaving her company confused. Standing up from your laxed form, slightly towering over the young Archon while your eyes were dead set on hers, your teasing aura vanished into a tense and trembling form. "You... remember...?" Your voice quivered as well as your eyes. Your once calm facade crumbled showing the same prey that was hunted countless times.
Walking back into the shadows that filled the cell you were locked in, turning away as thoughts and words escaped your lips in mumbles, mumbles no one else in the dungeon could understand. Facing the wall you clenched your fingers on the surface, grabbing onto what little sanity is left before madness drove your mind. "Lieslieslieslieslieslies... Even... evenifyouremember... You paused your rapid mumbling as you clenched your hands harder on the wall, breaking your nails before your blood oozed out.
Your silence filled the dungeon with a haunting flavour, like the clam before the storm, leaving the Dendro Archon and her companion uneasy. "Kusanali, we should leave this nutjob. We're not gonna get anything from them." Wanderer tries to tell his concerns, but Nahida was laser focused on getting more from you.
The silence was deafening before it was interrupted but the sound of a droplet hitting the floor, then another, and another. Your hands rested on your sides, before turning your head to the two outside your cell.
Your sudden change in form left the two alarmed as Wanderer gets in front to protect the Archon.
You were still as still a statue; in an instant, you leapt onto thern but you were stopped by the bars holding you in. Your eyes showed an insane victim conscience about freedom or a trap. "Remembering that means NOTHING!!! LIARS! You're just here to ask me SHIT aren't ya!!!" Your furious yells echoed through the hollow halls while. While your hands gripped harder on the bars, your blood continued to flow, blood of glimmering gold against the small ember of light flickering from a lamp.
"You're... The Overseer...?"

Whilst I'm on the topic of fanfics every fandom has and which I want to see with Alhaitham and Kaveh: body swap
Imagine Kaveh finding out that Alhaitham's daily life is one terrible sensory overload after another. Alhaitham once said the colours of the new plates Kaveh bought hurt his eyes and they literally do. Kaveh knows he has a loud voice in his own body and by god he doesn't know how Alhaitham can stand listening to him without his headphones if that's how he hears the world. Simultaneously, Kaveh has never felt so internally calm in his life. No wonder Alhaitham preaches rationality when he's basically nonstop in a zen state of mind. The prospect of talking to strangers doesn't inflict nervous anxiety on him in this body. Instead, he now abhors the loudness and touchy-feely nature of Sumeru's people. He doesn't overthink the simplest things when he's in Alhaitham's body - he just creates, caught in a flow-like state that doesn't come with jittery fingers and frayed nerves. In a sense, it's ironic how much more suited Alhaitham's body is for the creative process. Blocking out people's annoying voices with those genius headphones, listening to repetitive and yet satisfying music through said headphones and just letting himself work... now Kaveh knows why Alhaitham hates to be interrupted when he's in work mode.
Meanwhile, Alhaitham for once doesn't feel the need to drown out his surroundings with calming music. He's actually enjoying spices. He likes looking at vivid colours and touching those usually awful blankets that Kaveh prefers. If that's how Kaveh sees things, it is no wonder how he can stand being so bright. Alhaitham finds himself speaking louder than he usually does - but, of course, when he notices Kaveh's grimace, he adjusts his volume. He genereally finds himself simply enjoying so much more. However, he's sometimes overwhelmed by an anxiousness inside this body's chest. Feelings, Alhaitham comes to understand, can be just as sensorically challenging as, for example, a too shrill noise. During his time in Kaveh's body, Alhaitham has come to dread leaving the house for entirely different reasons than usual. And he's realized just how much uncaring-sounding words can hurt - no wonder Kaveh leaves for the tavern every time they argue.
And their arguments... well, now that each of them has had a taste of what it's like to be the other, they've grown to understand that the harshest of their disagreements - the ones that aren't simply banter - stem from mutual ignorance on what the other person is actually experiencing.

procedural - alhaitham
[random writing event] | requested by @crane1000
Being known as one of those more free-spirited sort, you were never one for schedules. It wasn’t that you had anything against them. You just found it difficult to devote yourself to doing things at a set time on a set day was rather constricting. So when you were hired to work as the Akademiya’s scribe’s assistant, you were in for a whirlwind of change. Alhaitham was scheduled. Procedural, even. And he made sure you were too.
With Alhaitham, work started at 9am sharp. After half an hour of reviewing his intray, he would start on drafting proposals, copying documents, and creating lists. It was your job to maintain and organize the many papers that passed through his hands. Lunch was taken at noon on the dot. After, you would be out and about passing correspondence, picking up new books from the House of Daena, and communicating with the other departments. Once 5pm hit, you were finally released.
Through everything, Alhaitham prized efficiency and efficacy above all else. And though it took time to get used to his spartan ways, you could see the value in following his work style. Everything made sense. That is, mostly everything. When you sat down and really thought about everything, though, you couldn’t help but feel that there was something… odd about the way he did a few things.
Ever since you started, Alhaitham began eating out for lunch almost everyday, always inviting you along. Which was weird because you heard he usually brought lunch made by his roommate. You didn’t think it was too strange at first. You were friends with Alhaitham during your student years, after all. He probably wanted to catch up. But to continue on for a few months…?
It didn’t help that you did much of the talking at lunch. Sure, you were extremely talkative, but you thought he’d surely get tired of listening to you ramble on by now. But no, no matter how much you babbled about, he’d always respond with some intelligent response showing he was listening to you all along. That wasn’t even considering the way he opted to sit next to instead of across from you. Were you that interesting to listen to?
Then there was the way he’d actually listen to and take the random advice you’d give. The new fountain pens upon his desk were suggested by you, as were the coffee beans he now used at home. He let you drag him to new restaurants at lunch and borrowed the books you raved about in the House of Daena. You never heard of him doing this for anyone else.
And lastly…
“Are you ready to go?”
“Yep! Just finished packing up,” you replied, standing up from your desk. “Let’s go.”
As that classes were finally finished for the day, the Akademiya was abuzz with students. In the back of your mind, you had no doubt that the streets of Sumeru City would only be busier seeing that most people were finally leaving work.
“You don’t need to walk me home,” you began with an apologetic laugh. “It’s probably going to take a while.”
“It’s fine,” he replied. “Besides, weren’t you the one that insisted on finishing your story earlier?”
“Oh, you’re right!” You exclaimed. “So what happened next was…”
As you chatted about the happenings and various gossip that managed to find their way into your nosy ears, at some point your hand found its way into his. It often happened seeing that the busy roads often pushed and shoved you about. And as kind as he was to help you, you couldn’t help but feel that it was, like all the other things, unnecessary.
“Why are you so nice to me?” You found yourself asking when you finally reached your home.
Though his eyes widened for a moment, they soon narrowed as he crossed his arms as if observing you.
“Isn’t it obvious?”
You paused in thought.
“Because you see me as a friend?” You asked curiously.
You were met with a long exasperated sigh.
“Sure, let’s say that,” he finally said as he turned to leave. “Rest well.”
As you waved him goodbye, you couldn’t help but let out a sigh to yourself. Oh well. You’ll figure out his secrets some other time.

In a Kaeya mood lately because of @chaoticsnowflake-ao3 's Kaeya-themed whumptober.
Does Kaeya know the Traveler knows about his fight with Diluc, him being sent as a spy, etc?
Because we the audience have known that since 1.0 from his and Diluc's character stories. But did Kaeya ever tell the Traveler?
Traveler read his hidden notes during Hidden Strife. But does he know that?
I'm sure he expected us to know about Khaenri'ah pretty early on; he and his spy network are probably aware of us meeting Dain at Angel's Share of all places.
And of course in the 3.5 Caribert quest the Traveler is sitting with them when it's casually revealed an Alberich founded the Abyss Order.
Anyway what I'm getting at it a fic where Kaeya, who values the Traveler's friendship and worry what they've come to think of him without having been directly told anything, has some sort of breakdown and anxiously confesses to the Traveler. Only for them to calmly say they knew the whole time and spend the rest of the fic comforting Kaeya.

Ceteris paribus - Dottore x reader
Tumblr media
Note: Shhh it's almost 2am... This is.. yeah, this is something that's for sure. I'll uhh spread Aspergillus niger in your home if you use this for ai or similar. Tags: Dottore x fem!reader, afab reader, smut, porn with plot, plot with porn?, angst, teyvat speculation if you squint (don't), 4.5k Ceteris paribus - 'if everything else remains the same' Minors DNI
Faintly glowing nilotpala lotuses floated like stars, dotting the vast abyss of water. The sight you made among them had proclamations of divinity weighing on his tongue. Bathed in pale moonlight, your beauty was not something to be examined and explained, as much as the urge remained present, but rather a phenomena to simply enjoy.
Zandik found your form to hold his gaze hostage; not that he would willingly turn his head away even if he could. Glittering droplets gathered and trailed down your skin, mapping out a canvas of stars that he would soon enough pluck from your body and immortalize in the sky. Replacements would be needed after all, and what better substitute than something as beautiful as the natural patterns and grooves of the human body?
Standing by the edge of the dark pool of water, the thought of seeing it open up and swallow you whole wasn't too far-fetched. Already, countless leaves had drifted through the air and, upon touching the surface, been pulled under by some unseen force.
Or by curious fish.
Seeing you there alone made him wish for a heart to flutter, hands already undoing the straps of his outfit despite earlier proclamation of only following to keep watch. What harm could there be in letting himself - letting you both - have one last certain indulgence?
There was a flicker of doubt in his mind, would it be a more favorable outcome if you were to disappear into the abyss for that moment? Though every prediction and every piece of information that had been painstakingly gathered pointed towards the burning itself being harmless, there were always pesky variables and inevitable outliers.
Both part of the thrill and a curse, the world rarely operated precisely within the expectations of theory.
Zandik had no doubt that he would survive both the torching and the resulting onslaught, but you? A mourning flower, watered by adversity and flourishing despite it, resilient to a fault and yet just as delicate and fleeting as all purely organic life.
There were many things that he was happy to put to rest with the old world, but he would not let you be one.
His thoughts shifted with his position, body having gradually grown accustomed to the cool water that lapped around his ankles, he took a few tentative steps further into the lake. The bottom sloped gently, but he knew better than to charge forward without first feeling around for any sudden drops. A moment of tension as something passed between his calves was replaced with a frown upon seeing your amused expression.
Privacy was impossible with you, even if he was currently the one invading your swim.
"I thought you used to come here all the time," a scoff left his lips at your bubbly voice, warmth spreading to his ears, "has it been so long already that you've forgotten about all the dangerous creatures?"
A low chuckle rumbled in his chest, his continued advance sending little waves through the water until he eventually lowered himself fully, relishing the familiar cradle of cool water. In Snezhnaya, the water was ill equipped for any type of leisurely bathing. Aside from the obvious frozen state of the vast majority, it had a sharp quality to it, as though frost resided in each droplet, prepared to bite the minute it touched something foreign.
"What a sharp tongue, careful it doesn't get you in trouble."
Maintaining the same air of superiority proved difficult when every stroke of his arms had water splashing, keenly aware of his tousled hair and the gradual increase in how much of it clung to his face. Seeing you barely suppressing a laugh, Zandik dove beneath the surface, body cutting through the darkness with practiced finesse.
It didn't exactly wash away the turmoil as part of him had dared to hope, but at least it was quiet with the constant press of water against his ears. Floating further ahead was your form, the curvature of your legs outlined by what little light pierced through as they kicked to keep you steady.
Getting close enough to touch, capture a priced catch, he surfaced again, relishing the spray of water from both his hair and your ensuing flailing. The change stung his eyes for a moment before he rubbed away lingering water, keeping the other arm wrapped firmly around your waist.
Always a skittish thing, it was a wonder you'd willingly chosen to stay so close. Not just chosen, he supposed, as you turned in his grasp and reached to wrap around his shoulders, allowing your warmth to seep into his mangled body, you'd insisted on staying against all reason.
Even now, with the false veil hanging by a thread and threatening to crush everything under the weight of its fall, you still steadied the hand holding the scissors. A small smile tugged at his lips, desire stirring to life, when your plush legs wrapped themselves securely around his waist.
Clearly aware of the effect, you seemingly took extra care to 'adjust' the positioning of your hips, intention so apparent that it only served to make his blood run a little hotter. Especially with how your ankles locked to squeeze him further. Clever little devil.
He couldn't help but purr in turn, lamenting the lack of leverage from being bereft of solid ground beneath his feet, "You are far too good," but that could be fixed, "maybe I should start calling you my little lotus?"
The tremble of your chest as you suppressed a giggle was nothing short of elating, palms continuing to languidly rub your sides. Even soaked, your natural scent still reached his nose upon nuzzling against the crook of your neck, crisp as Dawn's apples with an undertone of something a little more heavy.
"And what brought this on?"
"Because," he pressed his lips to the nape of your neck, tightening his hold enough to hopefully make a point, "you've started to smell like them from bathing here every night," his lips parted in a grin at your mumbled proclamation of his status as a 'creep', "and most importantly, you're much like my personal little nilotpala lotus."
With a clear goal in mind, and ignoring your whined protests and delightfully flushed face, bringing you back to solid ground was no difficult task, not even with how you were draped around him. The towels and blanket you'd brought were already neatly laid out where grass started to sprout, as though you'd been expecting this outcome from the beginning.
Perhaps he was somewhat predictable, the notion sending a foreign burst of warmth through him.
Your voice broke the comfortable silence, characteristic impatience for his antics shining through, "you're just not going to elaborate on the comparison?"
Still, you clung to him like some fragile animal, forcing him to carefully balance as he sat down, smirking at little at the perfectly presented opportunity to squeeze your rear in the process.
"And rob you of the joy of solving a mystery?" Zandik merely chuckled at the sting of your palm connecting with his chest, "I was only waiting for you to ask."
"But no long history lessons," your fingers spread out atop his chest, gently pushing him to lay back as if to dangle a reward for expediting the explanation.
"There are several reasons as to why the comparison is fitting," he lowered his voice, hands moving to caress your hips once he'd gotten comfortable on the makeshift pillow of clothes, "one of which being the direct similarity of your softness to that of its petals."
Zandik couldn't resist the urge to chuckle at how you rolled your eyes, a small pinch to your flank bringing your attention back.
It was impossible to resist the urge to gently chide, "Let me finish; but more than anything, they are, supposedly, a reminder from a bygone time. Every night they bloom in remembrance of their past before chaos erupted, yet they continue to persist in the present," a small roll of your hips had a pleasant tingle spread across his skin, "and, I do believe you bring luck as well."
That earned a huff and a kiss.
The stars above came into focus when his head dropped back fully, the feeling of your slick folds rubbing against his hard dick freeing a sound of contentment from his chest. Always so good to him, your labia was already slick with arousal when a shuddering gasp left you. Zandik's eyes fluttered open too late to catch your expression, determination fueling the exact repeat of the motion, dragging your along the veins of his cock until your nub caught against the head and your lips parted around a sigh.
You molded so perfectly against him, thighs shaping against his hipbones, his fingers sinking into the meat of your rear with perfect resistance, your walls practically trying to suck him in. Oh he needed so much more, to taste your essence, take you apart and let you do the same. He needed the weight of your breast in his palm and the softness of your lips contrasting his.
Plans and ideas swirled with ferocity, his own breath growing heavier and the sky practically spinning above, he'd barely noticed the frenzy with which he dragged your hips back and forth. A choked moan reached his ears, a sweet cacophony of your voice and his, mixing when determination set your eyes ablaze and a greedy jerk of your hips your cunt stretch around his gorged tip.
Despite having indulged far more over the years than his schedule should have allowed, the tight fit never failed to steal the air from his lungs. Now, it seemed you'd stolen the ability to breathe itself. White static danced in the corners of his eyes, sharp teeth digging into his own lip to stall the release that threatened to crash over him.
In a show of rare mercy, you passed down the opportunity to gather dirt to blackmail him with later, your thumbs rubbing along his collarbones. The smile you wore was enchanting, tranquility soon following and drowning out his body's cries for release.
Determined not to let the inherent uncertainty of the future rush this, Zandik closed his eyes while slowly guiding you to be fully seated. The little mewls that vanished into the night deserved to be etched in stone and preserved for the next eternity. When your hips rolled the first time, smooth skin still a little wet as it dragged against his hips, it was nothing short of exquisite, unity of both the simplest and most complex character.
The definition of a meaningful connection had shifted from what brought resources and opportunity to something horrendously intangible over the years, the shift pinpointed to a single variable entering his life. A pesky thing, not entirely unlike an infection in how it seemed insistent on wrestling control of his body and mind.
Pleasure built steadily once you'd adjusted, clearly eager from how you'd barely given yourself a moment of respite before lifting yourself back up. Liquid fire spread anew through his veins with every brush of your fingertips, soft as laying in a bed of flowers on the first day of summer. It wouldn't be long before that might be feasible.
Like a man compelled, his fingers moved to tangle in your hair, feeling a smile tug at his lips when your hips stuttered - he would make a snarky comment about it tomorrow. Though the fantasy of your petulant expression and flushed cheeks had anticipation mix with pleasure, right now, the thought consuming the vast majority of his mind was far more primal in nature.
Lost to the present moment, Zandik finally allowed himself to assist your eager movements, occasionally peering into your hazy eyes with no regard for posterity. You were squeezing him perfectly, walls clamping around him whenever he would pull the slightest away.
"Easy darling, save your strength for tomorrow," he brought your wrist to his lips, sucking gently where veins ran just beneath the skin.
A slow thrust had your thighs tightening around his waist, back arching deliciously and inviting Zandik to push himself up, wrapping his lips around a soft breast. The sounds that spilled unabashedly from your lips were downright sinful in their purity.
It was only later, in the afterglow left behind, that he realized how much tension seemed to have left his body during the act, manifested instead as blooming marks on your hips and little bites along your neck. You were presumable caught in the same state of lightness if how your fingers flexed experimentally.
Caught in the shifting leaves, Zandik only noticed your words when they were accompanied by your teeth nipping at his chest, surprised by the worry etched onto your expression. "Do you have faith in all our preparations?"
Understanding ran almost as deep as the bitterness that spread across his tongue, "Faith? What a preposterous notion for the occasion. I trust in myself, in our plans and their inevitable success. Every possible variable above minuscule importance has been carefully monitored for centuries and accounted for."
He hated how, even with arrogance coating his words, you still squeezed his hand a little tighter. Still pressed your body a little closer to soothe.
It made his voice weaker, vulnerable almost, and he hated that it was so far out of his control. "Destroying comes naturally, but what will happen when the thrones fall and the skies collapse has always eluded me. I dedicated myself to seeking beyond the limits to the rules of this world, I know the extent of possibility, but once that has been shattered? Once the rules I know exactly how to subvert have been-"
"We'll figure it out, together," your breath was the first sun of spring, "a new set of rules means plenty of tests to conduct."
A rough chuckle left his lips, even while he could feel the tremble of your body, you attempted to brighten the horizon.
Tumblr media
This was unbearable.
How long had it been? Half an hour? Forty minutes? It didn't matter, it was too long. Especially for something as routine as fetching him some damned materials from the storage room.
And not even the one at the other end of the palace! No, it was literally thirty-two steps from the doors to his laboratory to the storage. At least with his own gait, and granted, he had a taller frame than most but-
Again. It didn't matter.
And why was it so warm in the laboratory? Dottore wiped a gloved hand across his brow, near growling at the realization that now he'd have to change them.
Why was everything falling apart? Of course it had to be today of all days.
"Do I have to do everything around here?"
The words were rough in his throat, more of a snarl even to his own ears, but it had the desired effect, countless of heads rising from their work to peer at him.
It took exactly three beats of his mechanically enhanced heart for them to turn their gazes away, frustration bubbling in his throat. Who did they think they were to so blatantly ignore him?
Dottore rolled his shoulders back, making certain that his heels would click obnoxiously against the hard stone floors during his patrol around the room.
It was a plan in two steps. At least it was when it was boiled down to the most basic division.
The old world would burn. The Crimson Moon would supply the necessary spark, quite possibly eager to exact vengeance on the offending power that claimed her sisters. The branches they'd stolen had been engulfed with a vigor not replicated by presenting the flames with any other material.
Glass crashed to the ground and was crushed under the steel toe of his boot. It was a redundant piece anyway. Production and research on Delusions had been halted a few months ago, stocks being enough to supply their troops and a decent amount in reserve.
Once the threads of fate had been severed, the remains of the Third Descender would be used to tether a new possibility. Insignificant by themselves, they would pose no threat, but with all seven in their hands, the oppressor would be sealed away.
The light wasn't searing his eyes today, perhaps they'd finally been replaced with something less intrusive than the glaring whites.
There would be nothing written on the pages that came after.
Just a few more tests.
Papers scattered with a flick of his wrist, clearing out space for the the leatherbound tome in his hands. Old drawings fell from between the pages, things Dottore hadn't seen in decades. Perhaps even longer.
Someone was screaming again. It took a moment for his mind to tune properly in to the sound, a pang of something coursing through him as his own voice rang through the room. Everything seemed to tremble beneath his wrath, even his hands were shaking.
The gloves were black leather, not dotted red with blood.
He hadn't slept for a week had he?
Resigned to the fate of needing to change his gloves anyway, rubbing at the stubble that grew on his chin was a necessary comfort. Just a little longer and all of his work would come to fruition.
Dottore could practically taste the sweetness of your lips. How he yearned to stand beside you and warm his hands by the fire.
Just a little longer and-
-maybe that imbecile of a subordinate would return with his supplies.
His head snapped up when something creaked. Despite several people milling about, it was eerily quiet.
Someone else should have already confirmed the concentration of the isolate, but with how dull everyone seemed as of late, it might be wise to asses it himself. He'd have to do a dilution series, and how many cuvettes would he need?
A curse left Dottore's lips at the same time his hands slammed onto the table. Those were in storage as well weren't they?
His eyes flickered around, pushing away the frustrating shadow in his periphery, a few more days and he'd have time to properly look at whatever had his mask malfunctioning.
The laboratory should be properly insulated, any outside interference was unwanted in a controlled environment such as this.
How many days were left before their plans would be set into motion was a blurred memory, something he would need to check soon.

Nothing seemed remiss in the little village, the sight of children playing with a single kite making your chest feel entirely too tight. The sun continued to shine, clothes already out to dry while the adults tended the gardens nearby. It might be more fitting to call them fields, there was little regard for private property these days, and sharing had proven far easier when the same people had aided in constructing homes, no matter how simple.
Flowers had started blooming as well, their scent a desperately needed change from the smoke that had choked the skies for weeks. With gravel crunching beneath your feet, the unease that coursed through your veins was momentarily stifled.
By all means, Teyvat was at peace.
Though you were on amicable terms with the inhabitants here, they eyed you warily, with varying degrees of pity in their eyes whenever you came to trade. Zandik himself refrained entirely from going, and everyone seemed content to keep him out of sight. Most had come to understand that there was nothing malicious about your partner, but you couldn't blame them for not forgetting the past.
It was an agreeable arrangement, much better than either of you had dared to hope. A small cot in what remained of the forest of what had been Sumeru, a peaceful existence with the sounds of nature providing the backdrop.
Pantalone had settled in the ruins of Liyue, Capitano had perished, Columbina disappeared with Arlecchino… Of all the harbingers, you were grateful for the fate that had been bestowed on your Zandik.
Even if-
A small hand tugging on your skirt nearly startled you, looking down to see an expression of concern etched onto the face of a young boy. With the skies clearing, his skin was already looking far better than last you saw him.
Several other children were huddled around the open space, all shuffling their feet nervously and evidently trying their best not to stare. With time, they'd hopefully forget what they'd seen and never have to cower like this.
"I heard him last night," there was a fair bit of caution in his voice, and you tried to smile reassuringly over your thundering heart, "he went that way… I think…"
Your feet ached from making haste through the dense undergrowth, hands scratched up from the countless times you'd tripped on a loose stone or hidden root. It was ridiculous to get so worked up, he'd been the Second Harbinger, strength to go up against the divine, and he'd won.
But he hadn't been home since yesterday, and that alone had spectral insects crawling beneath your skin and your hearth threatening to flee your chest. Would he come home this time?
Mindless swatting at mostly imaginary insects did nothing to dissipate the fog of anxiety that hung around you. The boy had confirmed your suspicion, unknowingly having pointed towards one of the old underground workshops.
It could be a coincidence of course. Zandik could be sitting bare-footed in a stream just a little further ahead, pulling in brightly colored axe marlins to supply your meals. He could have gotten so absorbed that he'd lost track of time and opted to camp outside rather than stumble through a dark forest.
You were fully aware that it was wishful thinking.
How many times you'd trudged this way was uncertain, fingers skimming the edges of stone that marked an upper corner of the facility. Signs had been put up where the ground had opened up into the complex to avoid anyone carelessly falling in. A knot formed in the pit of your stomach, the sounds of glass shattering reaching your ears from below.
Rubble was scattered in the hallways and opportunistic vines and roots had begun spilling into the vast network. The complex had been abandoned long before the final confrontation with Celestia, a time capsule from when Zandik himself stayed in Sumeru to conduct preliminary studies on the power of dreams and forbidden knowledge. From what you understood, it had served The Doctor and his pursuits well,
It made the air heavy with misplaced gratitude and relief.
Stone knocked against your back as you stumbled aside, startled a sharp pang followed by metallic clatter. Still with your heart in your throat, you staggered forward through the haze of tears clouding your vision.
"Why doesn't it work? It has to work. It should work. Everything is right. It's all correct- I just have to finish it- the deadline!" Another crash, the glass shards no sharper than his continued shouts, "There's so little time left I have to-"
Sparse sunlight filtered through and illuminated the ruins of what must have been a laboratory in its prime. You forced your lungs to work despite how every breath seared your throat. The tentative call of his name gave no result.
Zandik was hunched over a slanted desk, one wooden leg broken and threatening to give out. A few metallic tables were scattered around the room, two of them pushed against a wall as if to block out something. Every cupboard had been opened and the contents of several emptied onto the floor. How much was the work of Zandik, you wondered.
"Why won't anyone listen to me? Don't any of you know how to do your jobs properly? Get me those damn supplies or I'll-" two and a half vial clinked together with every restless knock of his fist against the table, "I'll tie a rope around your waist, throw you into the abyss, and dissect whatever I can pull back out!"
Another breath, hands trembling as they reached for him, fully anticipating the way his body jerked and twisted. It didn't make it any less upsetting.
Zandik sneered when your hands cupped stubbled cheeks, and for a moment you wondered if he'd bite like a rabid beast. You nearly choked on a sob at seeing the crudely folded paper that covered the top of his face, holes haphazardly torn to allow him to see. His hair was dirty and tangled, his clothes in no better state.
Soothing shushes left your lips in a steady stream, thumbs continuing to pet his skin and rub the dust from rubble away, thankful that the artificial lights were long broken. His shirt could be mended and washed.
"Zandik, I need you to-"
He howled like a wounded beast, thrashing when you pushed away his paper mask, "Don't call me that! Useless- useless, you're all useless!"
Even disoriented, his grip was iron when his fingers locked around your arms. Tears were running down your cheeks, ignoring the blood that dripped from where his nails had pierced skin. Still, you refused to let go of his face.
"Zandik please.. look around you.. it's over, we- you did it.. let's go home.."
For a moment, the fog seemed to clear a little from his eyes as they flickered back and forth, taking in the scenery anew. A shiver ran through him, hands letting up their grip on your arms in favour of gently feeling along them, confirming your existence.
Irminsul had burned and people's memories had been the price. None more affected than the man who'd held the torch.
It had yet to be determined what exactly had happened to Zandik, resources weren't abundant enough to prioritize anything but survival. And even if they were, he'd barely had a moment lucid enough to properly process your sobbed attempts at explanation.
Perhaps he hadn't been woven into the new tapestry of fate, or maybe his grandest achievement, his beloved eyes in time, had tethered him more firmly to the old threads rather than freeing him. More than once, his hands had held your head close to his chest, just as they did now, and shushed cries that he would never grasp the cause of.
"It will all get better my lotus," your heart already clenched, desperate cries begging to freeze time in place before he continued with his hushed words, "…just a little longer and we'll all be free…"

hwat if i wrote a fic about kinich and ajaw because their dynamic fascinates me in a platonic manner like i dont think theyre family but theyre the weirdest friends the archons have ever seen and they begrudgingly (ajaw HATES this) care abt one another in their own ways and also i think that after seeing a comic about kinich actually becoming kind of angry after ajaw makes a comment about his childhood it could lead to an interesting fic premise do u see my visions

Silly idea me and my friend had with sagau, sahsrau and possibly sawuwaau(??)
But like, what if, due to your consciousness essentially merging/being connected to the MC more, sometimes stuff gets a lil funky and you start seeing things you shouldn't
Like yk, ghosts 😇🙏
I recommend strapping in because these are gonna be three flash fictions into one + having lots of talking lol
(more utc‼️)
For example, in a fic style:
"Hey, are you gonna eat your food, Traveler?" Paimon asked, looking worriedly at the distracted visage of her friend. "Something on your mind? You can always tell Paimon what's on your mind!"
They shook their head, eyes looking at the person who stared at them and their companion. Eyes unblinking, appearance overall disheveled and aged.
"That guy's been staring at us the whole time we've been eating," they replied, eyes switching over to Paimon in a barely contained distressed fashion. "It's almost worrying me."
"What guy?"
Paimon silently asked again, "What?" when her friend looked at her so incredulously.
"You don't see him?" they asked again, now worried beyond belief. The last time Paimon saw them like this was when they fought Arlecchino.
"Traveler, I think that's a ghost we're both seeing," the voice inside his mind pointed out, trying to calm their mental state. Right, they forgot the Creator was a part of their mind now.
And as the voice just predicted, one blink and that figure was gone, the Traveler seeing its shadow scurry into a corner of the restaurant.
The door chime rang out and in a cyan and a blue haired boy entered the restaurant, another blue haired girl following right after. Right, Chongyun, Xingqiu and Xiangling.
The ghost must've scurried off when it sensed Chongyun nearby. Well, at least that put an end to their distress.
——————
LIKE THE AMOUNT OF DISTRESS WHEN THE MCS SEE A GHOST FOR THE FIRST TIME
it'd be so chaotic, especially hsr's mcs bc good god they're already so adhd coded
You could think of them going through it like:
"Woah woah, what's got you all terrified, Trailblazer?" March 7th asked, a worried Dan Heng embracing them when they accidentally bumped into him trying to run away from something.
The Astral Express were quickly informed by them personally that they've been seeing ghosts and all sorts of spiritual apparitions that don't normally appear physically like heliobi, but seemingly living people that were doing normal things or otherwise.
It all started around the time they also figured out that the Creation's consciousness had somehow taken an interest in the Trailblazer, latching onto their body and making the Stellaron inside them a bit restless, unstable.
"It's... I saw Cocolia at the Administrative District," they said, panting from exhaustion. The story sounded so unreal, with how impossible it sounded, but with how broad the Creation works nothing was truly impossible.
"She was looking at Bronya shopping and talking to the people, always un-staring." March patted their back in assurance, joining Dan Heng in sitting them down onto the red couches in the Parlour Car.
"When I came closer to see if she was real, she whipped her head around so fast with the scariest look on her face!—"
"It's okay, Caelus Stelle Trailblazer, she can't reach you here," the choir of voices erupted in their mind, the chirping of birds and clinking machinery in their tone momentarily calming them down by a substantial amount.
"Well, it's a good thing ghosts can't get into the Express because that means she can't hurt you here!" March exclaimed, Dan Heng having to resist rolling his eyes at the obvious but letting her reassure them nonetheless. Dumb, dumber and dumbest— the trio wouldn't be complete with one of them missing.
Then, the cabin's speakers erupted in an all too familiar voice. "Attention, all Astral Express crew members! Dinner is ready, so please hurry over to the kitchen cabin and join me and Welt to eat here!" The Astral Express's Conductor excitedly exclaimed over the mic, never failing to make the three smile from their infectious enthusiasm.
"Well, we were supposed to find you and Himeko for dinner but it looks like Pom Pom beat us to it again," March said, jumping up from her seat with her hands on her hips.
"Last one to reach the kitchen cabin is a rotten egg!"
"Hey, no fair, you got a head start!"
Dan Heng sighed at the two's shenanigans yet again, slowly getting up from his own seat as the two raced over to the cabin. That Aeon truly knew how to control and manipulate the emotions of a being to THEIR liking, and he even felt it wash over him earlier.
He'll need to observe it more before adding another entry into THEIR dedicated part of the Archives.

This one was a little confusing to make into a scenario but it's what my eepy mind came up with on the spot :p
Now for our dearest Rover, it's a bit difficult to make it make sense, yk? Mostly because Tacet Discords shapeshifting into people is canon (if people actually paid attention to the lore), much less actually fitting the lore of this seemingly interplanetary eldritch being into the world of Wuthering Waves in the first place lmao
Maybe we could be the galaxy eye we see in the first cutscene, as well as the one when Abby (the lil echo that appeared after the Dreamless fight) and Rover being together
But this is all me yapping about a whole other subject— related, but not the one we're diving into right now
Getting back into the subject though, this is how i think it'd go:
It was another bright, sunny day at Panhua's Restaurant, the scent of delicious food wafting through the air as always. Rover, Yangyang, Chixia and Jiyan all sat around a table, with Abby floating around all plump and full.
"Say, Rover, didn't you say you had something to say for us today?" Chixia inquired, stacking and overall making the empty dishes look cleaner and neater.
"Yeah, just a strange sighting I saw near Desorock Highlands," they replied, putting a deft hand on their chin as if to think back on the memory.
"Me, Jiyan and The Black Sun were conversing like usual when we came across groups of people near the Tacet Field where the Thundering Memphis usually dwelled," Rover recounted, unconsciously pulling the leash that was attached to Abby's collar closer. "Some were laughing with eachother, acting as if most groups weren't crying out in agony."
"Aren't those just Tacet Discords that have absorbed lots of human frequencies?"
"No, there was something more... alive to them, besides the fact that the General himself couldn't see them," they replied to Yangyang, letting the leash go as Abby went back in their Tacet Mark with one last burp.
"Even when I went closer to them, they didn't attack me, more or less ignoring me entirely."
"Wait, who's this 'The Black Sun' you're talking about Rover? Is there another echo inside of you?" Chixia jumped up to ask, startling both Jiyan and Rover.
"The Black Sun is what you may have seen when you first found Rover and ventured back to Jinzhou, just as I did so as well," the General explained, waving over to Rover's direction in an attempt to explain this name to both ladies. Yangyang nodded and Chixia let out an "Oh," in understanding.
"I will admit, seeing them not react to us at all looked a lil' unnerving," the voice inside their mind stated in a breathy voice, unclear like a cloud of smoke.
Though the voice had no body and claimed that they weren't an echo like Abby, only really being able to be heard clearly when they're dreaming, it often provided support whenever it could— unlike a certain someone.
"I've already sent the proper human resources over to investigate the matter, the only thing left to do is to wait for results," Jiyan said, already standing up when he saw the bill arriving.
The three simply nodded in thanks to the General, knowing full well he'd insist on it till his last breath. And when he came back to the table the subject had already changed into another, more or less silly one.
Well, at least everyone was enjoying themselves.
———————
I didn't have much for the last part like i said, and it's more filled with dialogue, but it's better than nothing
Please do tell me if I missed anything or said something totally wrong!!
Now, is this an excuse to push my sahsrau fic more? ... mmmmaayyybbeee 😇

Everyone is pointing at the sky, in shock at the sight of a speeding light hurtling towards Dragonspine.
Everyone else: *panics about dragonspine being hit and half of the mountain collapsing*
Albedo *in mourning*: …My lab.
____
This is a little scene I was messing with for chapter 21 of Windwheel aster, it’s not a moment that’s at all relevant to the plot (might even be cut out if it doesn’t work well in the final draft) just something funny, btw I’m half way done with writing!!! *celebrates by chugging a cup of coffee* …I’m just really excited-

The atmosphere around you and the Dendro Archon was tense as all eyes from the audience and the other archons were on you both.
"Hehe.. sure... but if I remember correctly, what do you have to offer Miss Nahida? What would you exchange for this wisdom?" you taunted her with a sly smile as the guards had their weapons inches from your neck.
The Dendro Archon waves her hand back, signalling the guard to stand down. "Your life is on the line. Do you really have the option to negotiate?" she stands her ground trying to assert her authority over the imposter.
"Miss Nahida..." you started with a nonchalant and confidant tone. "After seeing all that, do you really think I care about my life?"
The Dendo archon was startled at your remark as she stepped back to remember what she saw through your memories "Uh- but... all those memories... weren't recorded in Irminsul nor is there any trace of them that happened." she began to sound doubtful along with fear creeping in.
"Don't worry, just let it sink in for a moment."
"You... you've..." The lesser lord ponders on what you meant, before she could deduct a conclusion the Raiden Shogun steps in with her sword in hand pointing at the imposter "That's enough from you!" Her voice boomed across the podium as all the other gods could hear her.
"Daring to fool an archon, taunting and playing with your life, delaying your fate lest manipulating what the Dendro archon sees, and walking this land with that face." Her tone was scornful and harsh, while you could only smile making the Electro archon furrow her brow.
Nahida tries to mediate between you and the Shogun but it seems the Shogun's patience ran out "Move aside Lesser lord, unless you wish to feel my blade." Her voice gnarled low as she stepped forward to the imposter readying her blade with static.
"Oh... very well, I'll see you all again. Soon."
